Right this moment, whilst the idea is fresh, whilst you can’t think of any good reason not to and every good reason why you should. It’s true what they say, the first step is the hardest, however I promise, it gets better and more fun…Classes are a great place to start. A lot of people, and I see this in my own classes, will come along to class and bring a friend for moral support. True, having your friend there will make the first time you go easier.
However, from what I’ve seen; if you’re reliant on another for motivation your good intentions will come unstuck quicker than those who’s ability to show up isn’t based their friends availability…
My regulars came down on their own. They decided they wanted to come to class and that was more important than the initial awkwardness of being the “newbie” that first night.
I admire that
So much emphasis is put on health and fitness but very little credit is given to the strength of character it takes to adhere to it.
Know what else?
My regulars all know each other now, people they may never have met otherwise now share a love for the class and fitness in general, they have carved out a little bit of time and space in their week which is theirs.
Not friends’.
Not families’
Just THEIRS.
How many of us allow the time or space to look after ourselves on a regular basis? Allow yourself your own time. Give yourself permission to take time for yourself.
